Airbnb's host dashboard hadn't been redesigned in 5 years. I led end-to-end design for a complete overhaul — streamlining host workflows, surfacing actionable insights, and establishing a new visual language that increased task completion by 34%.
Airbnb's host dashboard was a patchwork of features added over 5 years with no unified design language. Host NPS surveys consistently cited "confusing navigation" and "too much noise" as top pain points. Superhosts — representing 20% of hosts but 40% of bookings — were the most vocal critics.
Redesign the host dashboard from the ground up to reduce cognitive load, surface the 20% of data hosts act on daily, and establish a scalable component library for the host surface area.
Ran 22 contextual inquiry sessions with Superhosts across 4 countries. Synthesized insights into a jobs-to-be-done framework. Ran 3 rounds of concept testing. Partnered with engineering to build a new host-specific component library in Figma and React. Shipped in 4 phased rollouts over 10 months.
Task completion rate for core host actions increased 34%. Host NPS improved from 41 to 67. Time-on-page for the earnings view dropped 28% (hosts found answers faster). 94% of surveyed hosts rated the new experience "much better" or "better".

“Sofia transformed how we think about the host experience. The redesign set a new standard for data-dense dashboards inside Airbnb — clean, focused, and grounded in real host needs.”
